It is inspiring to look around and find ourselves in the world we share today as compared with the world as it was a generation ago, when the Film Festival first began. Not to gloss over the many significant hurdles that remain in our way related to inequality, tolerance and justice, but to take this moment to reflect on the progress made and the role film and video have played in helping forge the positive cultural changes we have seen.

Through a diverse range of storytelling that is fresh and innovative, the 2008 Festival line-up includes dozens of films that continue to entertain, enlighten and celebrate the Festival audience. But ultimately the Festival is about more than the films themselves. It’s about our lives, our community and coming together to experience something powerfully unique.

For 19 years our local GLBT community has poured its passion and commitment into supporting and growing the Clip/TIGLFF Film Festival. We’re a community that understands that the only way more GLBT content gets made is if tickets are sold. Nothing matters more than ticket sales in the world of filmmaking.

Last year we reached record levels of attendance with nearly 15,000 attendees. And this year we hope you, our audience, will push that support over the top to an all time record.

An amazing and talented group of event chairs and support volunteers have come together to raise the bar once more. The result is a world class LGBT Film Festival experience. So, settle in with some popcorn, dance past midnight, meet old friends and new, laugh real loud, and savor the experience of another year together as we celebrate our lives in pictures!
